And the winner of the Herb Tea Towel is……
Thanks all for playing, great comments from everyone, if only we had more towels!
This week is my favorite week in the whole year, the return of Daylight Savings time on Sunday, no more darkness at 5:30 pm! Hurray! I don’t know why they make us change it in the first place. And then of course the 20th is the first day of spring. Kate of the Nutfield Weaver, the maker of wonderful handwoven towels and wedding accessories has agreed to give away one of her towels. Very appropriately the towel is called “Herb Garden” and the colors where inspired by her love of garden.
I recently got another of Kate’s towels and I must say I am very pleased with it, it is well made, a nice size and looks great in my kitchen.
To win the towel leave us a comment about your favorite things about spring or what your favorite spring time tea is.
The winner will be picked and posted on the 19th, just in time for the first day of Spring and Kate will mail the towel directly to the winner.
We are very excited to announce out first giveaway here at Put the Tea Kettle On. The talented Ms. Lane from Lovelane sent us one of her fantastic Buenos Dias towels a while back and we feel it is time to send it on to its rightful home. It is such an awesome towel we are a bit sad to see it go but it wouldn’t be fair not to share. Along with the towel we will also be sending some other surprise tea goodies.
To have a chance leave us a comment about what you are doing for the holidays this year. There will also be a consolation prize of treats for a lucky runner up so that is two shots for some goodies. You have until Thursday the 10th to leave a comment and the winners will be posted on Friday.
Liz and Libby
I know, I am a bit late with this, it has been a busy week getting ready for my mum to visit while I get my wisdom teeth pulled at the end of the week. Lots of cleaning!!! Which of course tea towels are great for! So here are they are.
These wonderful towels are printed with designs from French apothecary bottle labels. I love the detail of old labels and the varitey of packaging they used to use. Teresa Sheeley has a fun line of French inspired accessories for you and your home.
This fun block printed towel from Leanne Graeff would look great in any kitchen and remind me of the farms where our food comes from. Judging from the rows above the farmer driving those tractors is a bit tipsy!
Libby and I are both owl fans and lately a lot of owls seem to be popping up, as cups, on shirts, and on tea towels. This cute little owl towel is from munaluna, the work of Meredith Cheng, a local San Francisco artist.
Last but not least, I have the winner of the Tea Candy Giveaway! The winner is mrtweeds, aka Kate, we will be getting her pack of Bali’s Iced Tea Hard candies off to her asap. Thanks all for playing.
A few months ago as I was at the market getting a deli sandwich when a display caught my eye, it was a stack of tea flavored hard candy. My first thought was “Does it REALLY taste like tea?” my second was “how many anti-oxidants can hard candy really have left in it?” Of course I had to get a bag just to find out. The bag does say after all that it is made with real tea extract.
Bali’s makes several different flavors like Green Tea Latte and coffee flavors as well. The candies are all individually wrapped so you can toss a few in your purse; which I appreciate because then I can enjoy some “Iced tea” when stuck in the middle of traffic on my way home from work.
Now, I figured that they would just be kind of sweet with a little tea flavor, but WOW, they really are like a cup of sweet ice tea! Just to make sure I wasn’t imagining this I have since forced pretty much everyone that comes to visit me to try one and everyone has had the same surprised reaction. Libby liked them so much she recently asked me to get her a bag since her local market doesn’t carry them.
Since I was already getting some I thought I would get a bag for some lucky reader, now you too can force feed these yummy treats to your tea drinking friends and family. All you have to do is leave us a comment about your favorite way to drink tea and on the 8th we will pick a random winner.
